Easy Dog Face Cupcakes

Easy Dog Face Cupcakes

Easy dog cupcakes from www.crayonsandcollars.com

Ingredients:

Cupcake mix (or from scratch!)

Chocolate Frosting

Keebler’s Fudge Stripes cookies. You can use either original or the new dark chocolate version, which is what we used here.

Cupcake liners – we personally think cute cupcake liners make things taste better….

Mini marshmallows

Regular sized or mini chocolate chips

Pink Starburst candies P.S. did you know you can purchase bags of JUST pink/red flavors?

Chocolate covered raisins

Directions:

Bake cupcakes and let ’em cool off

Spread a dollop of icing in the middle of the cupcake

Spread a small line of icing along the top edge of the cupcake

Cut or break Keebler Fudge Stripes cookie into quarters or halves, depending on how big you would like the ears to be. I did quarters in this example. Affix two of them vertically as ears to the top edge of the cupcake, on top of the icing you just spread there. Smoosh them a bit into the cupcake to hold them. (Is “smoosh” a technical baking term?)

Affix two mini marshmallows horizontally, side-by-side, in the middle of the cupcake (this will be the dog’s snout.)

Spread the icing across the puppy’s face and snout.

Affix two chocolate chips as eyes.

Affix one chocolate covered raisin on top of the snout as the nose

Take the Starburst out of the wrapper and work the Starburst in your fingers until it softens. Using kitchen shears, cut the Starburst in a half circle, about the size of your thumbnail and slide “under” the snout so it looks like a tongue.

And there you go! Let us know if you try these and how they turned out for you!
