Easy DIY Doggy Bow Tie

Easy DIY Doggy Bow Tie

Here’s a super fun and easy craft to get your pup looking dapper – a DIY, no sew doggy bow tie!

Materials:
-12-inch x 12-inch piece of cotton fabric, any pattern; you can get a bunch of swatches here.
-1 pony tail holder
-Glue gun
-Measuring tape
-Scissors
-Dog (preferably multiple dogs)

Instructions:
Cut two pieces of fabric: one 4 x 9 inches and one 1 1⁄2 x 4 inches (Don’t fret if it’s a little crooked; get as close as you can)

Turn the larger piece of fabric over, then fold in the long ends so they meet in the middle, and overlap them a bit. Add a few dabs of glue to hold them together.

Fold in the short sides, overlapping them a bit. Add another couple of dabs of glue to hold them together.

On the small fabric piece, fold the long ends into the middle, like you did with the bigger piece.

Lay the larger piece of fabric perpendicular on top of the smaller piece of fabric so the smaller piece is in the center. Lay the ponytail holder horizontally on top.

Wrap the small fabric piece tightly around the center of the larger piece and the pony tail holder so it forms a bow tie shape.  Snip the ends of the small fabric piece so they just slightly overlap, then glue, being careful not to glue the ponytail holder. This is the back of your doggy bow tie.

Slide your dog’s collar through both loops of the ponytail holder.

And Voila! Optional: Take a bunch of photos of your cute pup and post them on social media.
